| Reduces your liability | Exceeds 38% volatile reduction |
Lime and a powdered acid are mixed with dewatered biosolids. The mixture is then pressurized to approximately 30 - 40 psia and the temperature is increased to greater than 150° F. The sludge remains under pressure at a pH of 13.2 for a minimum of 30 minutes ensuring total particle immersion. The pressure is then reduced to release trapped air and gases (eg, water vapor, ammonia, and TMA) from the sludge. The result is a 30% reduction in the volume of the sludge which has been sterilized in the process.
The combination of high temperature and high pH coupled with the biocidal effects of the ammonia ensure that the biosolids are pathogen free in accordance with the 503 regulations for Class A biosolids.
With both mobile and permanent units available in pre-engineered sizes from 1 to 10 MGD, the BIOSET™ Process provides the customer with a simple and dependable method for reducing sludge volume and converting their sludge to a Class A biosolid status.
Thank you for your consideration of the BIOSET Process.
